Thanks to all, our Wine Tasting was a great success!  -  10/06/2010
Many thanks to board members Bob Green, Niall O'Connor, Lisa Reilly, and Shaun Smith; to Alex Marshall and Florence Laufer; and to everyone who attended our wine tasting on October 5. We raised over $2000 for our 2011 season and tasted some wonderful wines.

The Sauvignon Blancs: Kartauserhof, from Wachau, Austria; Mulderbosch, from Western Cape, South Africa; Hippolyt Reverdy, from Sancerre in the Loire Valley, France; Virginie Taunt, from Marlborough, New Zealand; and Chateau Lamothe de Haut Bordeaux, from Bordeaux, France.

The Merlots: Casa Julia, 2009, from Rapel Valley, Chile; Shinn Estate Vineyards, 2007, from North Fork, Long Island; Chateau Viewx Maillet, 2004, from Pomerol, Bordeaux, France; ad Chad Merlot Reserve, 2007, from Napa Valley California.

All of these wines are available at Slope Cellars, 436 7th Ave, Brooklyn. If you buy a case of wine, mixed or complete, Slope Cellars will donate 20% of the purchase price to Racoco!

Artistic director Rachel Cohen is going to Houston, Texas, to perform with composer Chris Becker, who just moved out there from NYC.

For the Binarium Sound Series, Chris and Rachel will perform a track from his deep-South-inspired cd Saints and Devils, and Cornell Box, featuring the hands of Houston musician/composers Alexandra Marculewicz Adshead and Michelle Yom.
