Object: Action, two workshops in one
Sunday, April 26th 2026
1:30pm-3:30pm and 4pm-6pm
price: $30 for one workshop; $50 for both
On Sunday, April 26, come to a pop-up two-part workshop in Action Theater* Improvisation and Improvising with Objects with Rachel Cohen.
1:30pm-3:30pm ET Action Theater Improvisation
4:00pm-6:00pm ET Improvisation with Objects
Attend one, or both
All levels welcome.
Through fun exercises with sound, movement, and speech, we'll explore how the body moving is language, and the voice speaking is movement, and how both can expand the imagination.
Then we'll look at how to extend our body and voice to incorporate objects into our improvisation as physical partners; as extensions or inhibitors of our physical body; and as amplifiers of our inner worlds.
"A playful yet fascinating exploration of our relationships with objects." -Sid Huang
(Can't make this one? The next one will be Sunday, April 26.)
*Action Theater was created by Ruth Zaporah.

Arts on Site Split Bill: I have my grandfather's nose / Between Skin
Sunday, March 15th 20266:30pm
Racoco and JC Project share a split bill in two shows at Arts on Site, on March 15.
If your nose were on someone else’s face, would you look at them the same way? I have my grandfather's nose conjures our grandparents from objects they’ve left behind, jumbling their imagined inner lives with a grandchild’s memories through Racoco's signature blend of dance, music, theater, things, the tender, and the absurd. Performed by assistant director Masumi Kishimoto, Meghan Schardt-Gensberg, Toby Billowitz, and Fina, with chamber and electronic music by Houston composer Chris Becker.

JC Project's Between Skin investigates the tension that emerges through contrast: softness and resistance, containment and expansion. The body becomes both anchor and architecture to oneself and to one another. Movement is shaped by push and pull, of ligaments, momentum, and invisible strings, requiring constant listening and tactful response to sensation. We asked how bodies negotiate force and what is revealed through the ever-changing exchange of energy.
