In May, Racoco is bringing "Assemblage" to Houston's Jung Center.

The Houston performances will feature Racoco members Rachel Cohen and Masumi Kishimoto and Houston-based dancers Tobaric Atkins-Montana and Persi Mey, and Houston musicians Luke Hubley (vibraphone), Naomi Hoffmeyer (harp), Molly Wise (viola), and Patrick Moore (cello) playing music composed and arranged by Chris Becker.

Come meet more of yourself in this introduction to Action Theater improvisation with Rachel Cohen, director of Racoco Productions. Through simple, fun exercises playing with movement, sound, and language, participants explore living in their bodies as well as their minds, mining and reveling in the multidimensional nature of being a human.

April 26 brings our bi-monthly showing with colleague Stephanie Sleeper/Sleepdance. We'll both show work-in-progress; Racoco continues developing Assemblage 2 with dancers Toby Billowitz, Masumi Kishimoto, and Meghan Schardt-Gensberg, and now Fina, returned from Germany, with music composed and arranged by Chris Becker.

Rachel also invites attendees to help her develop her project "Object Impermanence," looking at our connections with inanimate objects.
