Studio A.I.R. Experimental Performance Series
Saturday, April 7th 20128:30pm
price: Suggested donation $5
Stephanie Sleeper and Studio A.I.R in Brooklyn have invited us to perform in their April performance series. We'll be showing Vestige, now a group piece. Vestige references evolution, competition, and the road not taken through the eyes of one woman in a sea of others. Accompanied by a sweet, anonymous 16th century Scottish ballad, the women perform a combination of idiosyncratic and classical movements that contrast the dark and the light, the earthly and the ethereal.
Featuring Carolina Antunes, Patty Chang, Alisa Fendley, Remi Harris, Holly Heidt, Masumi Kishimoto, and Julie Petrusak.
Move/Music: Composer/Choreographer
Saturday, March 3rd 20128:00pm
price: $10
Eclectic collaborations between (mostly) local composers and choreographers, hosted by Rachel Cohen and Racoco/Rx. Rachel teams up with Chris Becker and Lynn Wright; they are joined by jill sigman/thinkdance with composer Kristin Norderval, and Adrian Jevicki with composer Ian Colletti.
Rachel and company will show excerpts from the work-in-progress "Tilt," an examination of chivalry and delusion with music by Lynn referencing spaghetti Westerns and trips to the eye doctor, and Rachel will perform a solo to music by Chris incorporating sounds from a pottery studio.
In an improv by Jill Sigman (movement) and Kristin Norderval (sound), Jill will continue her exploration of sewing and stirring processes in connection with space. Kristin will be using a sound application on the iPhone to accompany her use of voice. For info about jill sigman/thinkdance see: www.thinkdance.org
Working together for the first time, Adrian and Ian will present The Boat.
